Illusions

I invite you to participate in an experiment, to collaborate on a confusing creative project, as much as possible without reservation or questioning.

To suspend one’s disbelief, to break with one’s disbelief, is to accept living a fiction as if it were reality.

I transform reality and sometimes the appearance of the objects I photograph. I make the staging enigmatic, mysterious, sometimes humorous, but also disturbing in order to shake up certainties, disrupt convictions.

In our society where images are omnipresent, the sometimes indiscriminate manipulation of images reveals something more worrying: the influence of a fabricated, recomposed image and the narcissism of a society which increasingly looks at itself. more.

Through photography we increasingly witness the creation of a permanent doubt in relation to the reality presented, an uncertainty of the authenticity of the images, which is not without impact on the structuring of individual memories and collective, left without reliable benchmarks over time.

It’s a fact, some photos presented here are not credible, this paradoxical formatting is illogical, implausible, but I announce it to you in the preamble. I invite the viewer to ignore the fiction and temporarily admit this false reality and to begin to accept, for example, that the images that I present in black and white are indeed reality.

The sleight of hand of my photographic aesthetic is not generated by retouching software, everything is created during the shooting, the technique used evolves according to a process called long exposure and an ingenious editing of my objects. »
