Atelier Claude de Soria : Gérard Rondeau : Portraits d’ateliers

Preview

Gérard Rondeau (1953-2016) was a photographer-sculptor and a virtuoso of photographic material.

In 2009, the lens of Gérard Rondeau captured the studio of Claude de Soria. In the refined universe of the workshop, between the grain, sometimes rough of the photo of Gérard Rondeau and the soft skin of the cement of Claude de Soria, a dialogue was established in whites, blacks and grays. In this world of blacks, whites and greys, Gérard Rondeau played with words, shadows and silences.

The first event organized by Atelier Claude de Soria is devoted to the now famous portraits of artists by Gérard Rondeau. César, Joan Mitchell, Tadao Ando, Louise Bourgeois, Zao Wou Ki, Christo, Roy Lichtenstein… The photos were selected as much for their inner strength as for the links – lived or imaginary – woven between Claude de Soria and these immense artists.

The Atelier Claude de Soria  is accessible free of charge but by reservation on the claudedesoria.com website.
