Since 2017, Bisou Bouche has brought together a community of committed women from the creative and cultural sectors, united by their professions, their practices and their passions. Now comprising around forty members based in Paris, Marseille and Rome, the collective brings together a diverse range of professionals: artists, photographers, musicians, DJs and visual artists, as well as artistic directors, managers, cultural programmers, producers, and communications and partnerships managers.
“Conceived as both a support network and a platform for visibility, Bisou Bouche encourages exchange, knowledge-sharing and collaboration to foster collective projects with a positive impact. The collective works to create inclusive spaces for dialogue and for supporting young artists, with a particular focus on amplifying women’s voices and perspectives.
In line with these commitments, Bisou Bouche is taking part in the Rencontres d’Arles 2026 with a group exhibition celebrating women’s creativity and the dynamics of sisterhood through the works of its members. This programme will be accompanied by events and meet-ups organised during the festival’s opening week.”
– Jullia Louise Bisson, co-founder of Bisou Bouche.
For this exhibition, ten artists have come together to explore themes on the gaze, intimacy, memory and transmission. Through photography, sound and video, the works explore personal narratives, spaces of resistance, family ties, as well as issues relating to the body and a sense of belonging.
