The Eye of Photography brings you a selection of photography stories of young Burmese photographers, the result of masterclasses given by the Yangon Photo Festival over recent years.Here are six photo stories shown at Maha Bandula Park before a heterogeneous audience of about 6,000 people.

Thu Zar Hein is a six-year old girl, who has to spend her days begging to pay for medical care for her mother. A moving testimony on the reality of the work of children.

Moe Moe Thai grew up in an open air rubbish dump, from the time of her birth. Not being able to go to school, she worked and saved money so that her young brother could go.

A good karma, by Aye Thit Kar:
An immersion in a nun’s convent where we learn about the life journey of Aye Thit Kar, a nun who fights for her life. In spite of the exorbitant cost of care, her case attracted the solidarity of her community, and beyond. A lesson in humanity.

Night and Day, by Pyae Phyoe:
Big Karen, ten years old, makes bricks from clay by night and also by day. She helps her family of ten people to save for the rainy season, anticipating the probable flooding of their shack and of their place of work.

So far away from home, by Mu Mu:
That Mar is a thirteen years old young girl from the Delta region of Myanmar.She is already employed as a maid in Yangon, to support her family .
