The McCord Museum of Montréal presents the exhibition Yousuf Karsh & Edward Steichen – The Art of the Celebrity Portrait, produced by the National Gallery of Canada. The public is invited to explore and enjoy a selection of photographs by Yousuf Karsh and Edward Steichen, two of the 20th century’s most renowned celebrity portraitists, in an impressive photographic exhibition.

Yousuf Karsh (December 23, 1908 – July 13, 2002), a Canadian photographer of Armenian heritage, was one of the most renowned celebrity portraitists of the 20th century. He immortalized more than 11,000 individuals and as many historic moments associated with each. Edward Steichen (March 27, 1879 – March 25, 1973), painter, photographer and a curator at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), stands as a key figure in the history of photography. He will long be remembered for his avant-garde fashion shots, published in such prestigious magazines as Vanity Fair and Vogue.
