Story Lines
Story Lines is a series of intimate, cinematic narratives that blur the boundary between reality and fiction. Inspired by French New Wave cinema, the work explores the tension between external beauty and internal psychological complexity, set against the backdrop of the 1960s — a decade marked by cultural upheaval and the shifting roles of women in society.
Drawing on the feminist lens of New Wave filmmaker Agnès Varda — who illuminated the inner lives of strong, independent women navigating the lingering constraints of patriarchy — I create layered, film stills that reflect women in transition. Set within surreal cityscapes, interiors, and landscapes, these images evoke the volatility of the era and the quiet resilience of women searching for stability and identity in a rapidly changing world.
