Sabine Pigalle at Wild Project Gallery

Preview

A new gallery is going to see the light of day, directed by Renaud Bergonzo, it is in Luxembourg and is called Wild Project Gallery. A completely new series  “In Memoriam” by the photographer Sabine Pigalle opens its exhibition programme. This artist is part of the movement of a new generation  who navigate the troubled frontiers between reality and fiction.

Sabine Pigall was born in 1963, she lives and works in Paris.
She has exhibited regularly since 2002 in Europe (France, Italy, Belgium, United Kingdom) and in Asia (China, Japan), Art photography is her preferred medium. She questions the structures  of (myths and religion) and the methods of representing our western culture and transposes these references into a dream-like interpretation, giving a time-shifted, even subversive, reading. From an aesthetic point of view, primitives, or Flemish masters from the golden age, humanists or mannerists of the Renaissance, constitute the primary material for her explorations. Sabine Pigalle produces hybrid images, mainly dedicated to the art of the portrait, which combine the contemporary with references to the art of the past.
