Réflexivité(s) : Gabrielle Duplantier

Preview

Gabrielle Duplantier (1978) is a French-American photographer who lives in the Basque Country.
Since her first steps as a photographer, she has tirelessly travelled to the same familiar places from which she draws strange landscapes, twilight moments, fragile or powerful portraits.
Gabrielle gives her subjects the right to be themselves, watches for contact, the link, the truth in a determined and concerned quest.
“When I take a shot, in the very moment, I think neither of the past nor of the future. I am in the total, absolute present, I am uninhibited.”

LES ENFANTS D’ICI
Gabrielle invites us to open a box of secrets, the secrets of childhood: reveries, dreams and melancholy, gentleness, shyness and arrogance, all mysterious messages and symbols.
It is a metaphor for the universality of childhood, photographed in the suburbs of Bayonne with a tender and sensitive eye.
“Canto Libero” is the title of the text given by CLAUDE NORI, photographer and editor, to Gabrielle Duplantier for Réflexivité(s). A hymn to the immeasurable talent of this artist.
Again for Gabrielle, JEAN-BAPTISTE ANDREA, a novelist, offers us his words with spontaneity. A literary delight to be savoured this summer.
