It was in 1840 that the first work of photography was published in Spain: the Panorama óptico-artístico de las Islas Baleares with 39 lithographs produced from daguerreotypes by Francisco Muntaner. The year 1885 saw the first work of photo reportage, shot by Heribert Mariezcurrena.
