It’s funny—people familiar with the gallery and my sensibility sometimes assume I don’t like color photography. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I love what strong color brings to an image, and for me, Steve McCurry has done it better than most. He created one of the most widely recognized portraits of the 20th century. He’s also a thoughtful, humble, and deeply caring person. Additionally, we share a photographic hero in André Kertész, which only deepens my appreciation for his work. I invite you to spend some time with this selection from across his career.
