Michel Delsol –Portrait of a Zen temple

Preview

My name is Michel Delsol, I would like to present for your consideration the portfolio ‘Portrait of a Zen temple‘.

Tokusho-Ji is a Zen temple in Japan. It is located on a side street off a busy avenue in central Kyoto. On the ground floor are located the ceremony room, the tea room, the formal dining and reception rooms. The private residence of the monk and his family are on the second floor.
This is a portrait of this temple, a place of sacred built and orientated so the light might reveal the spirit. For 7 days during the rainy season of June and photographing with Polaroid negative type 665 rated at 50 asa, the exposures would often last upwards of 30 minutes , I used this time of exposure to be at peace with my surroundings.
