The 2026 edition of the MIA Photo Fair BNP Paribas has put together a cultural programme comprising talks, editorial presentations and workshops, inviting visitors to explore contemporary photography in greater depth.
Among the many discussions, several sessions examine market shifts, artist residencies and the relationship between photography and the corporate world.
The programme also places significant emphasis on issues relating to collecting. A series of discussions organised in collaboration with the Ettore Molinario Collection offers a multi-faceted perspective on the history, present and future of photographic collecting, bringing together international gallery owners, curators and collectors.
Workshops and portfolio reviews contribute to this educational dimension. Open to both professionals and amateurs, they offer opportunities for direct exchange with photo editors, artists and art directors, confirming the fair’s aim to position itself as a venue for training and knowledge-sharing.
In Milan, a series of exhibitions extending the fair
For the first time, the fair’s OFF programme is expanding into other districts of Milan. Designed as a natural extension of the event, this circuit brings together galleries, institutions and independent venues in a photography programme.
At Galleria 10 Corso Como, the exhibition The New American West: Photography in Conversation fosters a dialogue between historical figures and contemporary artists on the construction of the myth of the American West through Howard Greenberg’s collection.
The Senato Hotel hosts SENATO BLOW(N) UP, a project that features a single monumental image in its inner courtyard. This installation invites viewers to slow down their gaze and reconsider the time spent observing in the face of the overabundance of contemporary images.
Teresa Giannico’s exhibition in the Tecno showroom explores the relationships between mental spaces and physical environments, as do the numerous exhibitions presented in Milan’s major institutions during the fair.
