The jury for the Prix photo sociale 2025, chaired by Jane Evelyn Atwood, has chosen photographer Marion Gronier for her series ‘Something like a spider’ (Quelque chose comme une araignée).
Marion Gronier ventures into the enigmatic world of mental illness. She delicately balances the challenge of respecting people’s dignity and finding the right distance without erasing emotion. Her long immersion in psychiatric institutions plunges us into the ambiguity of these places that treat, but lock people up and make them invisible.
The exhibition runs from 28 May to 5 July 2025.
