We continue and present the projects selected by Les Nuits Photographiques 2015 awards, which took place on September 19th. Today is about “La Photocopieuse“, directed by Julien Benard, french photographer.
What is more characteristic and more commonplace in office life than a photocopier?
Everybody goes to it, interchangeable but unique, repeats the same gestures, mechanically, from starting the printing to inspecting the result.
You “go to the photocopier” alone absorbed in your thoughts or in a job to finish. You allow yourself a short break. Sometimes you bump into a colleague on the way.
Photocopying, printing, it’s a story of duplication. Like this single window photographed discreetly for several years.
These scenes, silent and faceless, that take place there, are an invitation to imaginary stories.
Julien Benard was born in 1975. He works and lives between Paris and Hautes-Alpes.
He joined studio Hans Lucas in 2015.
