Les Filles de la Photo : 4th edition of the Mentorship Program

Preview

Les Filles de la Photo are launching the 4th edition of their Mentorship Program dedicated to women photographers.

Les Filles de la Photo created the Observatory for Women/Men Gender Parity in Photography, whose two editions in 2019 and 2021 highlighted the disparity that exists between male and female photographers in their paths to recognition.

After the success of Mentorats #1, #2 and #3, which concluded with the feedback exhibitions “Les Expérimentales” — programmed as part of PhotoSaintGermain for editions #1 and #2 and the PHOTOCLIMAT Biennale for edition #3 — Les Filles de la Photo are launching edition #4.

Once again, they are strengthening their action in support of women photographers by paying particular attention to the diversity of profiles and to inclusivity, to promote a multiplicity of viewpoints.

The call for projects for Mentorat #4 will be open until March 31, 2026 at 11:59 pm on the Les Filles de la Photo website. The program is open to all professional women photographers, with no age limit, based in metropolitan France and the overseas territories, who wish to receive support for an ongoing project and their professional trajectory.

Reminder of objectives

  • Provide access to a network that is often difficult for women photographers to break into
  • Develop mutual acquaintance and break out of isolation
  • Make women photographers and their work visible to professionals
  • Enable a better understanding of the methods and functioning of the photography ecosystem
  • Benefit from long-term support
  • Open up broader and more ambitious career prospects

Process

Following the call for projects, 5 laureates will be selected by a jury in June 2026 made up of members of Les Filles de la Photo.

Each photographer will be supported for 15 months, starting in July 2026, by a pair of mentors (marraines), experts in the artistic field and in commissions. The laureates will have access to the association’s network, methods and resources throughout the program.

A concluding exhibition will be organized the following year, in September 2027. 5 finalists (in addition to the 5 laureates) will benefit from support measures.
