La chambre claire Galerie in Douarnenez presents an exhibition by Pentti Sammallahti.
Pentti Sammallahti was born in 1950 in Helsinki into a family of artisans. His father was a goldsmith, and he is the grandson of Swedish photographer Hildur Larsson. As a teenager, he began passionately pursuing photography and printing.
Pentti Sammallahti’s photographs, imbued with empathy and gentleness, not lacking in humor, delight us with the quality of his prints, revealing their nuances and palette of grays. Through his framing, the playfulness of the birds does not escape him; it breathes the tenderness of the animals, and humanity is not overlooked.
