Kether : Dominique Boile Collection : Leonard Cohen : It’s au Revoir

Preview

Archivist and passionate collector since 1971, well known to specialists and historians of modern music, Dominique Boile is the owner of a collection that includes more than three thousand pieces, and covers the sixty-year career of Leonard Cohen.

It is from the Dominique Boile Collection that the members of the KETHER project have designed a photographic exhibition revealing rarities, unique, unpublished, or sold out pieces.

It includes in particular:

– Many pieces signed by Leonard Cohen. His autographed albums (including collectors’ items, pirated and semi-pirated recordings, extremely rare 45 rpm records), and a wide variety of objects (mini discs, unreleased sound documents, backstage passes, vintage press, period posters, cartridges, picks, songbooks and sheet music…)

– A vast set of Memorabilia intimately linked to the life and work of Leonard Cohen – from his famous hat to his Correspondence with Dominique Boile, his drawings and paintings, as well as limited prints and signed, multilingual editions of his books.

Poetry, spirituality and music, which are at the heart of Leonard Cohen’s work, occupy an essential place in this exhibition. It is aimed both to specialists in the universe of Leonard Cohen and to all those who are interested in counter-culture (literature, music, photography) and vintage aesthetics.

For this exhibition, KETHER has also designed a musical creation on which are read texts taken from the works of Leonard Cohen (poems, extracts from novels). This musical creation can be presented during the openings of the exhibition, as well as concerts and independent performances.
