It was in the 1970s that we first recognized the important role that photography had played as a means of expression and communication throughout history. Once again it is well represented in the artworld, receiving increasing coverage in magazines like ArtForum, Art in America, Flash At and The Print Collector’s Newsletter. Important museums and galleries like Leo Castelli and the Marlborough Gallery also began to exhibit the work of young photographers.
