The International Museum of Dance, in partnership with YourDailyPhotograph.com, has announced the creation of the museu’s first-ever fine art photography collection, marking a significant milestone in the museum’s mission to celebrate the art and culture of dance.
Following a free call for submissions that drew more than 1,000 entries from around the world, a panel of curators selected 38 outstanding photographs to be inducted into the museum’s permanent collection. The chosen works reflect a dynamic range of styles, perspectives, and interpretations of dance, offering visitors a fresh lens through which to experience the art form.
“This was a perfect circumstance where everyone won,” said Daniel Miller, founder of YourDailyPhotograph.com. “Photographers had the opportunity to have their works accepted into a major museum’s permanent collection, the Museum gained a remarkable contemporary photography collection, and collectors can now acquire prints from the same editions as the museum’s holdings.”
The newly acquired collection will be featured in future museum exhibitions and made available for educational and cultural programming, cementing its place in the International Museum of Dance’s legacy.
