Gibellina Photoroad 2025

Preview

From 20 June to 20 August, Gibellina Photoroad, Italy’s only outdoor and in situ photography and visual arts festival, and one of the few in the world, returns to celebrate artistic experimentation. Featuring open-air exhibitions, large-scale photographic installations and visionary installations designed specifically to blend in with the landscape of the museum town of Gibellina (TP), Italy’s next capital of contemporary art in 2026, the biennial Gibellina Photoroad Festival (GPR) marks its fifth edition this year, still under the artistic direction of Arianna Catania, organised by the On Image cultural association and promoted by the municipality of Gibellina and the Orestiadi Foundation.

‘Timeless’ is the theme chosen for this year’s event, which will see internationally renowned photographers such as Alex Majoli, Mandy Barker, Paolo Ventura and Feng Li, to name but a few, come face to face with emerging talents from all over the world, who will be presenting previously unpublished works, many of which have been produced as part of artistic residency projects in Gibellina.

The opening days, from 20 to 22 June, will transform the city of Belìce into an outpost of international contemporary creativity, with three days of events, all free of charge, including lectures, guided tours, performances, videos and alienating perspectives.
