Arles 2020 day to day by Thierry Maindrault
Arles without “La Croisière” and its lot of cultural activities would no longer be Arles, even in these times of sparse audiences, the doors are always open. And the “Méjan” association always produces enhancements of photographic works that ask question anyone inside this baroque place.
Among the choice of creators put forward this summer, the presence of Géraldine Lay is interesting by the photographic approach that she followed through the many possibilities of residencies that were offered to her. Since 2007 she has confessed that her residences, in France, have enriched her personal work through these trips that mark her photographic journey through many regions of France. Each new locality becomes part of her overall project by gathering all her photographs to offer an intuitive whole.
Géraldine has published several monographs including “Failles Ordinaires” (2012) and “North End” (2018) by Editions Actes Sud.
