The exhibition Fashion/Culture, curated by Natascha Seideneck for the Colorado Photographic Arts Center, showcases contemporary Colorado based artists that use photography to explore the intersection between art, fashion, beauty and culture. The diverse group of works reflects the many connections between Denver’s growing fashion and art communities.
The exhibition consists of contemporary photography and site specific installation reflecting the theme of fashion and it’s relationship to image, art and culture. The concept is not centered on commercial fashion photography, although it is one of the features in the exhibition, but about how fashion affects culture. This includes how different cultural groups appropriate fashion, how artists interpret it and how it reflects our identity.
