The Moon gallery at the Rencontres d’Arles
Moon gallery is an online gallery launched in 2014 by film technicians Marie Berg, Sophie Herr and Elodie Vongdara. It highlights the photographic works of talents represented by Cosmic, put on sale on the website of the gallery.
Originally, Moon Gallery is an online gallery that aims to help film technicians to release their creativity and expose their personal work, without a specific theme. A way of working quite different from their professional life on movie or advertising sets where they are mostly constrained and cannot freely explore their own view of things. The gallery offers them an artistic playground and the opportunity to exercise their cinematographic eye on the photo support.
This exhibition offers a freeze frame, as a parenthesis, which contrasts with the often-frantic pace of filming. Two universes that feed each other and answer each other, that of cinema and that of photography, take the “pause”, the time to meet.
After a first exhibition at the Beaurepaire gallery in Paris in March 2016, Moon Gallery is taking part this year at the Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles in Espace++ in July 2019. This new exhibition is accompanied this time by a book which presents the career and work of each photographer, available for sale here: boutik.moongallery.fr
Cosmic
Cosmic is an international agency, created by Sophie Herr. Based in Paris, she represents directors of photography, interior designers, costume designers and editors from around the world. Today, the agency has about sixty big names in cinema and advertising, from fifteen different nationalities.
