“After a childhood in Alsace and studies in Brussels, Mélanie Wenger left for Libya at the end of the revolution. She later directed a long-running documentary series on the privacy of an isolated elderly person in Brittany, designed a transmedia project on sexual violence and developed a journalistic photography and investigation work on ivory trafficking in Zimbabwe and in Cameroon. She publishes her images in Libération et VSD, publishes a book at Actes Sud and prepares a mission for National Geographic.
Her gaze, extremely lucid, nuances hot topics. This exhibition, produced by Stimultania, allows the photography center to position itself doubly: first by dealing once again with a strong political theme by bringing the distance of art and then supporting an exceptional woman. ”
