The exhibition of photographs “Down with the walls! Offers a glimpse into the main theme of the festival – 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall – but from the contemporary point of view: 30 years later. What walls that still exist in Europe and elsewhere in the world ?, but also the invisible barriers that separate countries, communities and people? Are we building new walls? Are we surmounting some? Is the era one of openness is this an era of closure? Here are some of the questions that guided the choice of the six projects presented by the curator of the exhibition, Dariusz Trześniowski.
Projects by artists Kai Wiedenhöfer (DE), Warren Richardson (UK), Deividas Buivydas (LT), Krzysztof Gołuch (PL), Tommaso Rada (IT) and ZUPAGRAFIKA (PL) reflect, among others, the following themes: world, social barriers, exclusion, disability, perception and representation of borders.
