David Turnley released his latest book PARIS AMOUR, he presents it as follow.

My wife Rachel has co-curated my newest book, PARIS AMOUR — a deeply personal collection of 325 photographs, presented in a limited edition of only 500 signed copies. Each image is printed at the scale of a framed artwork, as if it were already on your wall or in a gallery.

PARIS AMOUR is a gift from my heart — a collection of photographs made over the last 50 years that celebrate this beautiful city and the people who fill each day with love and hope.

I’m David Turnley, a French-American photographer and proud recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Photography. Many consider me one of the greatest photojournalists of our time — a title I carry with deep gratitude and humility. My journey truly began in 1975, when, at the age of 19, I arrived in France. I settled into a small room next to Notre-Dame de Paris, studied French at the Sorbonne in the mornings, sold ice cream at the Café Charlemagne beside the cathedral, and spent every other waking moment walking the streets of Paris with my camera.

During those early years, I had the extraordinary privilege of meeting some of the greatest photographers of the 20th century — Henri Cartier-Bresson, André Kertész, and others — who became friends and lasting influences on both my work and my way of seeing the world.

Over the course of my career, I’ve worked in more than 90 countries, bearing witness to many of the defining moments of the past five decades: from Nelson Mandela and the struggle against Apartheid, to the revolutions in Eastern Europe, the student uprising in Tiananmen Square, the wars in the Middle East, and most recently, the war in Ukraine. My photographs have been published around the world and have contributed to shaping public understanding of contemporary conflicts and humanitarian issues.

And yet, despite the many stories I’ve told across the globe, my heart has always belonged to Paris.

For 50 years, I’ve sought to capture the soul of the City of Light — a place I often describe as my spiritual home. With my Leica, I’ve created an intimate and poetic portrait of Paris: its daily rhythms, its timeless beauty, and the remarkable diversity and soul of its people.

Each morning, as I wake and walk with my camera, I’m not so much thinking as I am feeling — intuitively responding to serendipitous moments and encounters that make me feel alive, hopeful, and deeply in love with life. These are the moments I strive to share through my photographs.

Today, I live in Paris with my family, where this magnificent city continues to inspire me every single day.

For this, I am eternally grateful — and humbled to share with you my book, PARIS AMOUR.
