Chaussee 36 Photo Foundation presents the exhibition of Maisie Cousins. The curated selection of works from 2017 to 2024 showcases Cousins’ photographic explorations of nature and sexuality. Featuring work in extremely large format, as well as smaller, more intimate pieces, the exhibition presents the breadth of Cousins’ distinctive visual language, in which the artist creates humorously ambiguous and vibrantly colourful close-ups of fruit, skin, bugs and other everyday objects. Both provocative and sensual, the exhibited pieces celebrate the female body and challenge the mainstream misogynistic notions of perfect and clean female beauty.
