On the ballast of abandoned tracks lie the traces left behind by the last travelers: beverage cans, plastic bottles, canned goods, bags of candy, packets of cigarettes, lighters, newspapers … Mixed in the bed of polychrome pebbles strewn with flowers and wild grasses, these remains rust along with the rails, crumble or turn white like sleepers carved out by time. My images of this chaos of materials, materials and industrial objects compose so many archaeological paintings attesting to the bygone days when carefree men naturally mingled their waste with the earth.
