Robert Koch Gallery, a founding member of AIPAD, presents a group exhibition of contemporary, 20th and 19th century photographers for The Photography Show 2026, presented by AIPAD and held at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City, April 22–26. Located at Booth B6. For more information, visit www.kochgallery.com.
The gallery will be premiering the release of key early Edward Burtynsky images in a 48 × 60–72 inch size that were not previously produced at this larger scale. The images in this Legacy offering are those he has long intended to present in a 48 × 60–72 inch format, but for which the means were not available at the time of their original release. The previous largest size edition these images were produced in was 40 x 50-60 inches and sold out more than 20 years ago. These images are now available in the larger format without a white border. Printed in limited editions of 6 + 2 APs, they are consistent with his current releases. Also on view will be a selection of recent mine tailing images, exhibited for the first time.
On view will be photographs from Matt Black’s American Geography and New World Atlas series. Black was awarded the prestigious 2025 MacArthur Fellowship (Genius Grant) and a 2025 Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. His work focuses on his native California’s Central Valley and other similar regions, creating photography that is grounded in social and environmental concerns.
Also on view will be works by Mimi Plumb, whose museum retrospective, Blazing Light: Photographs by Mimi Plumb, is currently on view at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta through May 10. Spanning five decades, the photographs in the High Museum of Art exhibition were made in California and Nevada. Plumb received a 2022 John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship. Her photographs are in the collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Yale University Art Gallery; the Deutsche Börse Foundation, Frankfurt; and the Daum Museum of Contemporary Art.
Additionally, the gallery will exhibit works by Henri Cartier-Bresson, František Drtikol, Robert Frank, Jaromír Funke, György Kepes, Károly Kismányoky, Helen Levitt, Man Ray, Charles Marville, Jaroslav Rössler, Carleton E. Watkins, Michael Wolf, and others.
