One morning last week, there was this email from Tina Trumpp!
“What about doing an article with nudes and also landscape photos, in the same way as my general style is (looking like paintings)?”
Here is the result! Accompanied by this text from the photographer.
“After photographing nudes continuously for 6 years and then successfully publishing my book ‚Shades Of Sensuality‘ with the publisher teNeues in 2021, I wanted to face a new challenge. Numerous visits to museums aroused my curiosity and interest in painting, after all I started painting in large format in oils myself. Unlike photography, the medium of oil requires a very complex approach, which poses a great challenge. I love this challenge!
I noticed that the great painters of all epochs had mostly always dealt with nudes and nature. I too have taken nature photographs of lakes, mountains and seas on many trips over the years, but these have never been published to date. That should change. As with my nude photography, the stillness and beauty of the subject, in this case nature, is paramount. Sometimes I stood by the water like an angler for hours to capture the right moment of the clouds with long exposures. The waiting almost had something meditative about it and really slowed me down. I‘m so happy to see these photos in large formal in exhibitions now and who knows, maybe there will be oil paintings by me in the future.”
