The series Istanbul by Tilby Vattard were selected by Philippe Serenon (Founder of Photomed) during portfolio review at the Gaite Lyrique on the 15 and 16 November 2014.
Slipping beneath the surface of things in a journey to the heart of Istanbul, bathed in that vibrant light that gives meaning to the world of men, meeting with the invisible forces that underlie our reality. Photography as a spiritual practice, a means to reopen the dialogue between the real and the imaginary, to question our relationship with the sacred, to experience that timeless presence in a life that leaves little room for contemplation, as we each try to find our way between myth and modernity.
