Thierry des Ouches : Silences

Preview

The photographer Thierry des Ouches offers us with “Silences”, which will be released on September 16 by Hartpon editions, his most poetic and intimate work. An eponymous exhibition is organized on the occasion of this publication from September 9 to 26, Galerie Guillaume (Paris 8).

Notably known for having exhibited giant portraits of cows on the very chic Place Vendôme, Thierry des Ouches cultivates what he calls “local exoticism”. One is thus surprised, over the pages of “Silences”, to marvel at the arabesques of a garden hose, to be moved by the fate of carcasses of cars delivered to rust, overwhelmed by the gaze of great apes mummified in a museum, to experience the mystery of a maze of rails disappearing in the mists.

As the writer Philippe Delerm notes: “It’s like that in the photos of Thierry des Ouches: the sensations overflow the images. “He does not photograph” subjects “, he captures the spirit of places, beings and things and lets us perceive their eloquent silences.
