If Parisians may congratulate themselves on the reopening of the Musée Picasso, the opening of the Fondation Louis Vuitton, the FIAC and the upcoming Month of Photography, as well as many other artistic events in the city, it sort of takes the sting out of whoever “stung” McCarthy’s Christmas tree. This has been a sad week. We lost someone very dear to us, someone who fought for kindness, a photographer whose clarity in his art was a reflection of his humanity. Rest in peace, René.
