In Niort (France), la Villa Pérochon presents the exhibition L’image et la page : Carte blanche aux éditions lamaindonne(The Image and the Page: Carte Blanche for Lamaindonne Publishing).

“The photobook has a singularity that sets it apart from other art books. Unlike works devoted to painting, sculpture, or installation which show reproductions of works that exist elsewhere it is constituted of the work itself. Photography is, in fact, a reproducible medium: the image printed in the book is not a mere representation of a work, but one of its forms of existence. The book is therefore not a mediator between the reader and the work. It allows for direct experience of the work, with no intermediary.” David Fourré, head of éditions lamaindonne
This summer, the Villa Pérochon explores this strong bond between photography and publishing by inviting éditions lamaindonne. Built around 8 photographers, this group exhibition reveals the work carried out jointly by photographers and their editor.
