The Eye of Photography presents on a monthly basis features from The Agents Club such as their Insta News, Master Series or Profiles.
Born in Panama City and raised in Arizona, Billy Kidd is an American photographer whose sensitivity to light, color and atmosphere was deeply shaped by the desert landscape.
Self-taught from the beginning, Billy developed his eye through experimentation and instinct. Influenced by Irving Penn, Man Ray and Helen Levitt among others, he built a visual language that feels both precise and effortless.
After moving to New York City in 2009, he began focusing on daylight portraiture. This approach became central to his work, allowing space for spontaneity, presence and real expression.
After moving to New York City in 2009, he began focusing on daylight portraiture. This approach became central to his work, allowing space for spontaneity, presence and real expression.
Over the years, he has photographed a wide range of figures including Jeff Koons, Olivier Rousteing, Ethan Hawke, Glenn Close, Jessica Chastain, George Clooney, Lena Dunham, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Thom Browne, Brooke Shields, Zooey Deschanel, Pharrell Williams and many more… always bringing the same understated intensity to his portraits.
Still self-taught and constantly evolving, Billy Kidd continues to approach photography as a space for connection and observation, through projects such as ‘A Sensitive Boy’, a self-portrait series exploring the emotions men are taught not to share.
