Special Books : Le Graffiti général by Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre

Preview

Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre visited the Magasins Généraux in the Parisian suburb of Pantin and came back with a new look at the history of graffiti in the French capital and its surroundings.

Since the major construction projects of the 1980s from central Paris (Quais de Seine, Beaubourg, the Louvre) to the east, abandoned sites have told the artistic history of Paris and its suburbs. In a beautiful book designed with the international ad agency BETC, which will open a branch in the Magasins Généraux in Pantin in 2016, author Karim Boukercha offers readers a glimpse into this invisible world through documents, interviews with graffiti artists, and 60 photographs by Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre, known for their unique approach to urban decay, as seen in their cult series on modern Detroit.
