Rafael Sanz Lobato received the 2011 National Photography Prize, an award that recognizes the work of a photographer whose work was kept in the dark for years even if a number of his series undoubtedly place his work at the top of Spanish photography. A Rapa das Bestas, Bercianos de Aliste or Auto Sacramental de Camuñas portray the cultural diversity of our country.
The retrospective exhibition, Rafael Sanz Lobato. Photographs 1960-2008, brings together 137 photographs that cut right through his work from 1960 to 2008, and constitute the first comprehensive review of his creations, thanks to Chantal Grande and David Balsells’ curatorial work.
