Qiu Yang was born in Beijing in 1981. He studied photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, where he now lives. A combination of still life, architecture and fashion, Qiu’s style places his work between the commercial and the artistic. Playful, graphic and aesthetic phenomena, the objects take on lives of their own and play them out in weightless spaces full of intrigue, simulacra, irony and seduction.
