Porsche Portraits, a new exhibition of images by automobile photographer Michael Furman, opens at Patina Gallery at 131 W Palace Avenue in Santa Fe, NM on Friday, September 14 and continues through October 5, 2018.
Furman’s work spans 35 years and has redefined the interpretation of automobile photography. He describes his images as portraits, elegant studio photographs that express the historical and aesthetic importance of each car. He presents each one from the perspective of the designers and engineers who created the cars, visually communicating their thoughts and motivations and the socioeconomic context in which they worked. He explains: “[There are] limitless possibilities to relate the many facets of automotive experience and inspire the next generation.”
An opening reception to meet Michael Furman will be held on September 14 from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The Public is invited. Adding excitement to the opening, 25 exquisite Porsche cars will be staged right in front of Patina Gallery on West Palace Avenue.
