January 27, 2025 – So that no one forgets 80 years later

A journey to the end of horror. No one returns unscathed from a visit to the “Konzentrationslager Auschwitz”…
…the terminus of the railway line, electrified barbed wire, squalid barracks, even a brothel (Block 24) that was a forced prostitution house for “deserving” prisoners, the kapos,
…and even more so the Wall of Death, between Blocks 10 and 11, where thousands of inmates were shot,
…not to mention the gas chambers, the crematoria, and their 1.35 million victims. Absolute horror!
Auschwitz has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979 as a Major Historical and Cultural Monument contributing to the “duty of remembrance.” The official name of the memorial site is Auschwitz-Birkenau, German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp (1940-1945).

NB: These few images, all B&W silver, were scanned in low resolution and colorimetrically processed by software to give them the “vintage” appearance of images from the 1940s of the last century.
