Fabrice Mabillots’ “Filles” (Girls) are reunited in Paris in the ambience of the Pont-Neuf Gallery.
His muses, diaphanous beauties, whose looks are sometimes charming and sometimes melancholic, pose in pure pastel tones decors that serve the fragility of these naive moments. “Women often tell me that they are affected by my images. They reflect the way they want to be seen and watched” he says.
This exhibition presents photographs from this series, published in a book carrying the same name, by Contrejour editions, but also unpublished images. A cigarette on the edge of her lips, facing the wind, a breast uncovered, no longer fleeing looking at the camera, the “girls” have given way to their femininity and appear more bold and daring. By the curve of a breast or a tender smile, Fabrice Mabillot does more than beautify his models, he pays tribute to all women.
