Palma de Mallorca: Luna Trista: Portraits

Preview

Luna Tristá doesn’t look for perfection, but for the constant and tireless overcoming of her monsters. In darkness there is beauty that seduces.
Tristá’s artistic quest leads her to discover anonymous people with strong personality. They are her ideal of beauty. The path she undertakes with each work translates itself in a process of recognition, knowing that through their faces she is actually meeting herself. They are the mirror of her soul.
Black and White is the basic technique of her photographic work, intended to recover and reconstruct the past. A decadent past, a past filled with memories that, although not always pleasing, reveal themselves as enlightening.
The use of color in her photographs is fairly recent. This stylistic change is due to the discovery of the power of color, which allows her to delve into the world of the women portrayed in a much more ironic way, changing their meaning playing with spaces and forms.
Her fetish is the femenine body at the center of her work. Intimacy of women who walk free while stuck on the thin line between the everyday routine and the sublime. Desperate women searching arduously for themselves that pose freely. The Women trapped by her photographs invite us all on this journey of initiation.
Silence, harsh shadows, sex, general imperfection and women are all part of her inspiration. Beauty at its best.

Biography

Luna Tristá was born in 1980 in Havana, Cuba, she formed as a photographer at the IDEP (University High School of Image and Design) in Barcelona where she lived until recently. Currently she lives in Milan.
Her world in Black and White shows her obsession with the past. Her images communicate a mixture of glamour and decadence.
It’s difficult to feel indifferent in front of their strength. Her mainly female bodies are portrayed in their intimacy, they show themselves without fear to her eye that looks at them from the inside.
I don’t search perfection but the untiring conquest of their monsters.
The obscurity, at the same time, is the beauty that seduces

Luna Tristá.
