Why balance?
Because nature’s aim is stability which isn’t necessarily growth, which can be excessive, disturbing and irrational.
Ever since I have red the following extract-paragraph from ‘Femina Sapiens’ by B. Bokun, my photographic mind became occupied by Balance or Balancing at breaking point. That is how this project of mine was created.
‘’Our aggressive mentality, helped by our obsessive cult with human
rights, can be a serious obstacle to the solving of problems created by climatic changes. We need to learn how to regain our sense of balance with the planet’s resources and become conscientious users. Our obsession with human rights gives the impression that we are entitled to them, that we deserve them. We should replace our obsession with that of human duties and responsibilities. This cult could awaken a sense of harmony with the planet in us and take the place of our lack of innate patterns of behaviour, which would contribute to social and economic
wellbeing and an awareness of the beauty around us.’’
