Ioanna Sakelleraki is a Greek photographer based in Brussels. Her approach is marked by a fascination for the past, memory and the movement between different eras. Through Ioanna Sakelleraki’s photos, we have access to her ideas and reflections that are inspired by the ruins of the past. She describes her work as documentary photography. As an example, for the series Balkans Revisited, Ioanna Sakelleraki started a photographic journey to search for landscapes in ruins to create a narrative around memory and territory. For Seven Days at The Bottom of The Ocean it was in the Australian desert that the photographer set off to capture images of the traces of human passage in this area full of surprises.
