Mak Remissa (Cambodia) – From Hunting to Shooting – Photo Phnom Penh 2018

Preview

When I was a child I loved hunting birds with my slingshot and, unaware of the damage I was doing, I was proud to be very good at this game. Since then, I have learned how important it is to preserve all the species. This series would like to help change our bad habit of hunting wild birds for consumption and trade. It is not too late to protect the remaining natural resources for future generations. It’s up to us to decide.

Born September 5, 1970. After studying at the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh where he specialized in photography, he became an independent photographer. He then collaborated with the French daily Cambodge Soir and, since 2006, he is a correspondent for the DPA news agency. Alongside his work as a journalist he develops personal works, small philosophical tales in images served by the quality of his treatment of color.
