Down’s Syndrome

There is a story. Once upon a time, there were two wells in a small kingdom. The wizard put medicine in the well that belonged to the civilians. All civilians became mad after drinking the water from the well. The King was all right because he didn’t drink the water from that well. The whole Kingdom was in sadness because they thought the King was a nut. The whole country rejoiced after the King drank the same water. They celebrated, their King finally became « normal ».

This turned my attention to the patients of   Down’s syndrome (known as fool) in the street/ They are scattered but sometimes gather together. Are we normal in their eye ? We would have entirely different answer if we use different standard to measure what « normal » is. Which water was used as medicine ? The wizard had slipped away, leaving no clues. Of course, we can’t find out the answer. Please excuse me for using the word « fool », it is Helpless. I choose this innate discriminatory term based on the context but have no discrimination against them. Normal people use the word it refers to a specific population, at the same time implies the praise of their wisdom and talent. I belong to « normal person », therefore I should feel honor when I use it at the moment.

It is said the truth often lies in the hand of the few people. I am speechless and could not help respecting them at the same time. The reason why I could not be the minority may be «  I am not completely foolish  »
