Laurent Champoussin: Plunge

Preview

Temple is a new center dedicated to the exhibition of the work of a new generation of artists, situated in the heart of the Marais in Paris. Temple was created by four people from the art and publishing world who shared a common desire for a place where people could meet, discuss and discover new work. Each exhibition is the subject of a limited-edition book.

For its first exhibition, Temple is presenting the work of the young French artist Laurent Champoussin.

“For years I have been interested in athletic bodies, which led me to swimming and diving in particular,” says Champoussin. “I’m drawn to the ‘anti-performance,’ not the perfect gesture but the ‘sensitive posture,’ the contraction of the muscles, and the sense of abandon during and after the jump.”
