Konstantin Salomatin was born in 1978 in Russia. Graduated from The Ural State University (Russia, Yekaterinburg). Started his career as a photojournalist in 2002, in 2009 started to work as a freelancer with Russian Reporter magazine. Represented by Agency.Photographer.ru in Moscow since 2005. Participated in Novosibirsk Photo Salon group show in 2002, 2004 and 2006; “Decisive moment” group show, Manezh Exhibition hall, St.Petersburg, 2006. His solo exhibition “Paris, Ural” was held in Metenkov House of Photography in Yekaterinburg (2006). His own project “The Silk Road sideways” was shown in a group exhibition “Young Russian photography. Understanding”, FotoDepartament Foundation, St.-Petersburg, Russia (2009). Was published in Russian Reporter magazine, Expert magazine, Ogonyok magazine, Newsweek (Russia), Geo (Russia), Chicago Tribune, Nevskoe Vremya among others. He was nominated to Prix Pictet Awards (in 2009 and 2010).
