Early in her career Roxanne Lowit, the acclaimed New York photographer, established a new genre of photography. Rather than trailing the other photographers to capture the official glamour of the fashion runway, Roxanne preferred the whirlwind energy, action and artistry of the backstage scene. In this frenzied setting she was always able to capture calm, expressive, iconic images of the designers, models and fashions.
