Jean-Yves Moirin–Darkness Visible

Preview

Jean-Yves Moirin has long favored painting. His last exhibition was in 2003 at the Château d’Eau in Bourges where he lives. He has been taking pictures since very young and continues to this day. His reflections on the role of photography in contemporary art guide him in his visual art, leading him to distance himself from the visible in order to interpret it in his photography, to which he is now entirely devoted .

In the exhibition Une obscure clarté, Moirin blends his pictorial art knowledge with that of the photographic image to create a misleading effect, enhanced by his practice of printing the images directly onto the medium.
